Jan 2010 APCE Presentation
From Neal's Wiki
Open with YouTube video:
- "Did You Know?" 2008 Edition Created by Karl Fisch, and modified by Scott McLeod; Globalization & The Information Age
- "Did You Know?" 2007 Edition more laid-back version -- soft music, more ramifications for education
- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IZegg_iVFDM (more info related to education, less interesting format)
- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3NzQqPH3JRw (mentions Second Life)
- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ZkvmpE50GQ (why do are classrooms look the same as they did in the 1900s?)
- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W0fJKvdjQgs (do you teach or do you educate? -- use this as "parting" video)
- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4pyjRj3UMRM This is just for fun and humor (tech issues with the last big technology...the book)
Idea might be to intersperse these videos at 15 minute increments throughout the presentation, pausing for questions afterwards.
ALSO -- Use Twitter for questions, too!
After first video make the point about Pencil as technology: Can be used to write an essay, drum away the time, or poke someone's eye out. Technology is a tool that can be used for good, bad, or neutral purposes. Not inherently good or bad in itself.
